The Pitch

As we sustain the assault of shocking, infuriating, and otherwise depressing news, I awoke this morning with an idea to start each day creating a laugh.  It has been suggested that my standards for amusement are quite low; that is, I derive excessive laughter from minimally 'fueled' jokes.  Among my family and friends, it is "The Muffin Joke" that epitomizes this low bar.  The joke goes:

“So there’s these two muffins in the oven. One muffin says to the other muffin, ‘Boy it’s hot in here’. The other muffin says, ‘WOAH! A talking muffin.’”

Note: my most often used version has 'Holy Cow!' instead of 'WOAH!'

AND SO BEGINS!  My daily effort to create a joke that makes me laugh, and perhaps can draw a grin from you.

This is perhaps a workshop site for the jokes.  Today's thought, as I suspect will be the case on many days, is word play.

The listing of calories for items at a restaurant is meant to be informative for patrons.  These allow people to select items to fit their daily calorie count.  Usually, an item with high calorie count is a discouragement.

But is it not an implication that we should all be watching our weight?  Therefore, are the calorie listings not 'menu innuendos?'
